GalaxC Girl Interview~

I’ve been wanting to get another lady on my blog for awhile now! I thought why not get one of the glitch hop forum ladies?? GalaxC Girl is a VJ/DJ extraordinaire! I always enjoy what she has to say. So please check out our little interview here!
Why is your name GalaxC Girl?
Well…I grew up secluded waaaay out in the country on a big ass hippy commune with billions of stars and our Milky Way Galaxy extremely visible like a ribbon cloud of stars accross the sky. My parents named me Celeste which means “heavenly” or “from the stars” or whatever…so I suppose it’s only natural that I’ve been super fascinated with outer space from a very early age. My mom told me she was an alien. Lol.
When I needed an alias I guess I combined my love for super heros with super powers and my infatuation with the vastness of the cosmos together into a name signifying galactic awareness. I decided to go with the C to be more unique and I liked how the C stands for so many things such as my actual name, Celeste.
And people have called me crazy all my life so it definitely stands for that too, haha! So it kind of sounds like a super hero name and my super power is channeling cosmic codes to blast everyone with 3rd eye opening galactivation rays to help us all unlock our super powers and remember the all-dimensional forever frequency of our One Eternal Self who just exists to have the best time ever. :D
Tell us about how first got into being a VJ
I’ve been involved with the party scene for a long time helping make events happen mainly because I just love partying and dancing so much. Dancing has always been my religion. Apparently even as a baby in my crib I demanded music to dance to and they nicknamed me “Boogie Baby”. Years ago in Asheville, we only had a couple VJs who we always tried to get for all our events as visuals just put it over the top.
They moved away so we (me and Quetzatl) had to start doing them ourselves so our parties could keep having visuals. Daniel Potthast, a video genius, showed us some stuff before he moved and I started doing them and was immediately hooked like a junkie. I started dreaming in visuals and couldn’t get enough and delved down the path of investing in gear instead of food and all that good stuff. Lol.
After about a year of VJing my brains out, I did a few DJ sets, then while drifting to sleep I saw how I could hook up and mix together VJing with DJing to do AV sets and BAM, I did it. AV sets are my jam! :)
Since you’re a visual person, show us one of your favourite videos (OF ANYTHING) and tell us why you love it.
Double Rainbow guy. I love that video. I love it because everyone should feel this way about everything. We live in a world of magic, we are magic..but we try to explain it all away too much instead of marveling at everything. I love how his awe and rapture is so contagious.
I also really like videos that just totally mess with your mind and are so weird to look at that you probably have to grow new brain synapses just from viewing them for a second like
And of course being a fan of foreverness, I love fractal videos and I think it is so amazing that technology has allowed us to view fractals on a level our eyes and minds can fathom.
What’s one of the funniest things that has happened to you?
Omgosh. Hmmmmm. This one time when I was 13 I did nitrous at my first Grateful Dead show. That was pretty damn funny.
Usually it’s when tapping into the synchronistic nature of the great web of being to be reminded of the extreme ironic hilarity of the universe…I live for moments that are so funny you think you’re going to get a stomach ulcer from laughing so hard.
This one time I did visuals at an outdoor festival at the 2nd stage so it wasn’t all serious or anything, people just chillin…and I was playing videos that went really funny with the music…like muppets tripping out and church people dancing..
I was laughing, everyone was laughing, we couldn’t stop laughing -there were people actually rolling around on the ground literally crying from laughing so much. People later told me they had to leave because they were seriously afraid they were going to actually die from laughing so hard. That was funny. But I guess you “had to be there”…
Why should people care about GalaxC Girl?
Because GalaxC Girl loves them.
And as Ed Tem Noon said on facebook: “GalaxC Girl’s set brought new meaning to everything I thought I knew”.
Woooooohoooooo! And as the Glitch Mob said on facebook: “GalaxC Girl for pres”. ;)
Why did the dinosaurs die?
They didn’t. They took off in space ships.
And the ones who stayed reincarnated as humans.
And there’s turtles, crocodiles and other creatures that are still with us from the dino age!
Anything else you would like to say?
It takes the Solar System about 260 million years to complete one orbit of the galaxy around the galactic center. It is thought that the Sun has completed 18-20 orbits during it’s lifetime and 1/1250 of a revolution since the origin of humans. (Our System is gonna turn 21-paaaaarty time! lol)
Astronomers believe the Milky Way is moving at approximately 630 km per second - everything is constantly blasting off into space all the time! Wow!!
We are all aspects of the same infinite source, pieces of the same singularity, a dancing duality of endless paradoxes. Support me on my mission to galactivate the planet! Like my facebook page , tell your local promoters to book me and come get your face rocked off! :)
